CCR In Progress

So I started working on my CCR and it has been very fun in all honesty. I had an idea of it being hard and drawn out but it has been fun to analyze and understand the flaws and strengths of my final product (being posted tomorrow). I have also found it interesting to find ways to make the CCR more interactive while still remaining informative and honest. I'll be posting pictures of my progress and my ideas for all of this very soon. I am extremely excited to take time and reflect and I cannot wait for the input from others on my final product. See you guys, latest, tomorrow. Stay tuned!!

FILM OPENING IS BASICALLY DONE

As I told you guys I was really pushing for today to be the last editing day and finally conclude the film and moves on to an equally hard and interesting task, the CCR. The only adjustment I have to make to the film is include one last second voice of Salvador saying, "Alright, love you." Other than that, the sounds and even the theme song are complete. I feel happy with the final product and hope it really conveys my idea, but I'll that up to you guys. I also feel amazing about my theme song. I originally thought of having Indiana Jones' song come on as the TV turned on but Paramount Pictures never returned my emails unfortunately. Actually, I was somewhat fortunate as well. I was able to explore GarageBand, an awesome tool, and come up with something fresh and new to add to the development of my character. Below are some images of my music, which took several tries as I didn't know what route to take. But after reviewing the initial plot and where the story would later take place I decided to go a Middle Eastern - Southwest Asia sound. I uploaded a snippet of the song as well as the actual production of it. Also you can see the work that I put in on the sound in the video to make the timings just right. Now I am finalizing my script for the CCR and look forward to working on it tomorrow and over the weekend.

The incorporation of the theme song and a transition from a diegetic sound to a non-diegetic sound.

The sound editing of the voice and the objects on set. It was hard but the goals was to have every sound synchronous.

Filming is Finished, Sound Editing in The Process

Filming is entirely done. I am happy with the acting, the camera movement, the lighting and all the other techniques I was looking to incorporate. So on to the next step, SOUND EDITING!! I have already begun recording and I've gotten the sound for the entire scene with the mother. I am missing the discussion between the boy and his mother, and a couple sound edits such as the closing of doors, the turning on of the TV and the ruffling of bed sheets. I am sure that I will run into a couple problems especially with the sheets as capturing the sound in a characteristic manner is complicated. I will keep you guys updated and will post pictures very soon. Also, I want to finish all of it by tomorrow latest so that i have time to film my CCR and play around with it in order to make it as interactive as possible. I'm on a time crunch but if I am organized I should be good. Wish me luck!

Manipulation, For The Better

Editing has been smooth sailing as I have had some experience and exposure throughout the course. But what really shocked me was how well filming went with my young actor. As I explained previously lighting has been a huge challenge for me. I have wanted to do a dark night shot where only the silhouette of the young boy could be seen. With that in mind and the process I followed to block the window with paper and so on, I had a very small time gap in which the lighting was perfect to film in. That time gap in from 2-5, but 5 is pushing it. I was able to shoot at for and with the help of some paper, a hat, and a lamp I was able to manipulate the lightning in my favor. By placing the hat over the already filtered light, I was able to direct the slightest bit of light straight into the shot I wanted. I took some time to figure out but it payed off. I additionally had to add some filters on iMovie to really allow it to be seen.

Also, the last bit of film will be captured tonight and will be the seen of the mother talking on the fun in either her room or the office. I practiced it last night with my mother and the lines have all been written. I decided to give her some liberty as to what to say in order to make the conversation seem more real. Furthermore, I will have either my dad or my brother sustain a real conversation on the phone in order to get a realistic response time rather than just practiced and paced lines. This will add an addition realistic feel to the film. I will let you guys know how filming goes with my mom tonight. I will also edit the final work by tomorrow and delve into the sound editing that I believe will be relatively easy as all the noise can be produced with in my house and recorded on my phone. Talking about phones a challenge has been storage. I might sound like a personal issue but several of my friends have encountered it as well. To solve it I have been using several phones to record and then transporting them to my computer. This has given me more than enough storage for my many takes.
I can't wait to present my final project, see you guys in a few hours !!!
